A future without crying?

My grandmother once gave me a tip:

In difficult times, you move forward in small steps.

Do what you have to do, but little by little.

Don’t think about the future, or what may happen tomorrow.

Wash the dishes.

Remove the dust.

Write a letter.

Make a soup.

You see?

You are advancing step by step.

Take a step and stop.

Rest a little.

Praise yourself.

Take another step.

Then another.

You won’t notice, but your steps will grow more and more.

And the time will come when you can think about the future without crying.

We Manage What We Monitor

“If we want something to count in our lives, we should figure out a way to count it. Last week, how many times did you go to the gym, read a book, cook a meal, read to your child? Research shows that monitoring has an uncanny power. The simple act of monitoring our actions helps us to behave better. When you do the habits you want to foster, log it in your calendar, a journal, or an app.” Gretchen Rubin

Contact me if you need help setting up a system to monitor what matters to YOU! I’m really, really good at this and would be happy to help you.

Holidays

“Not that she didn’t enjoy the holidays: but she always felt – and it was, perhaps, the measure of her peculiar happiness – a little relieved when they were over. Her normal life pleased her so well that she was half afraid to step out of its frame in case one day she should find herself unable to get back.” Jan Struther
